Connected To Serve was founded to support the work in Honduras and as a response to the spiritual, physical and educational need seen in communities with a high rate of poverty. We Thank the Lord, because last year, Connected To Serve was approved as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Since 2007 we, James & Yolanda, have been going to Honduras on short mission trips to help and serve in different ways. For several years we helped Joshua Nations Ministries promoting Bible training centers in Honduras and in Mexico. We also have been serving locally in Denver at Confluence Ministries coordinating the ESL and GED programs.

However, In 2014 God put in our hearts and in the hearts of three Hondurans (Carlos, Aurora and Esmeralda) the vision of a distance learning educational/vocational program with a wholistic approach that also would address the spiritual need through biblical values. This program would help teenagers that couldn’t study after 6th grade due to lack of resources or the need to travel daily long distances to the nearest town to attend school.

In February 2015 CFI-Bethel was founded in the community of El Porvenir, up in the mountains above La Paz.What a blessing it is to see teens now, from different villages, attending their classes.They come with a lot of dreams and eager to learn.

In April 2017 CFI-La-Merced-Sur was opened. This center is located in an underserved neighborhood of the city of La Paz. People in this community face numerous challenges.

Now in 2018 We Are Happy To Report – CFI is serving at both centers a total of 54 students in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades. Since 2015, several students have finished our program and have been provided with scholarships to continue to the next level. We also have ongoing English & Computer classes at the center in la Paz for teens from the community. It was good to see how many young people participated during the school break in Honduras in December & January.
